Co-Managing Partner, Co-Founder

Colin Taylor is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of aPriori Capital Partners, a private equity fund manager created in connection with the spin-off of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners from Credit Suisse in 2014.

Prior to the spin-off, Mr. Taylor was a managing director with responsibility for the DLJ MBP private equity business within Credit Suisse’s Asset Management division. He served on the investment and operating committees of DLJ MBP and helped to invest more than $2 billion of equity in a number of landmark private equity transactions in Europe and elsewhere. In addition to his role with DLJ MBP, he also had responsibility for the Firm’s global private equity joint ventures and continues to serve on the investment committees and/or boards of Gulf Capital and Mubadala Infrastructure Partners (a joint venture between Mubadala, GE and CS). He was a member of the Alternative Investments, Asset Management and EMEA management/operating committees while at CS.

Mr. Taylor joined DLJ MBP in 2000 upon the merger of CS and DLJ, having initially joined CS in London in 1990. Prior to DLJ MBP and while at Credit Suisse he was head of the firm’s Power and Energy industry group in Europe, a senior member of the CSFB European M&A team and a co-chair of the Managing Director Election Committee. Prior to CS he was a sales executive, system engineer and financial controller at the IBM Corporation.

Mr. Taylor serves, or has served, as a Director of Nycomed, Fougera, Grohe, Guala Closures, Safilo, Neuf Telecom, Gala Group, Inspiring Learning and other private companies. He is on the advisory board of the School of Business at Queen’s University in Canada.

Mr. Taylor holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with honors from Queen’s University in Canada.
